Medicinal Cannabis for Pharmacists - ADHD Case Study
This extension module explores ADHD across the lifespan, examining its core symptoms, comorbidities, and contributing factors. Topics include a review of endocannabinoid influence on neurotransmitters and behaviour; associated comorbidities and complex cannabis use patterns; specific cannabinoid benefits and pitfalls in managing ADHD;
risks of therapy including dependence and cannabis use disorder.
Learners will be guided on evidence-informed prescribing plans and applying strategies for safe initiation,
monitoring, and titration of cannabinoid therapy with a focus on patient-centred care.
A Case study will be presented to develop and assess clinical reasoning and practice management skills, identify knowledge gaps, and provide a framework for clinical supervision and feedback.
