Medical Cannabis Indications with Case Study - Palliative Care
This extension module explores the role of medicinal cannabis in palliative and end-of-life care.
Learners will apply cannabinoid pharmacology to manage symptoms such as pain, nausea, appetite loss, and anxiety; differentiate between THC- and CBD-dominant products; and evaluate safety, efficacy, and impact of polypharmacy reduction.
With a focus on evidence-informed, patient-centred care, the module also addresses the legal, ethical, and practical considerations of initiating therapy in terminal care.
A case study will be presented to develop and assess clinical reasoning and practice management skills, identify
knowledge gaps and provide a framework for clinical supervision and feedback.
