Medicinal Cannabis Indications with Case Study - Anxiety
This extension module explores the role of medicinal cannabis in anxiety and related conditions. The content reviews the pathogenesis, prevalence, and burden of anxiety, while examining the role of the endocannabinoid system in mood regulation.
Learners will explore how CBD and THC influence anxiety, distinguish the dose-dependent effects of THC, and assess the appropriateness of CBD-dominant, THC-dominant,
and balanced formulations.
Clinical considerations such as patient screening, titration, psychoeducation, and follow-up will be addressed to support safe, evidence-informed use of medicinal cannabis in anxiety management.
A Case study will be presented to develop and assess clinical reasoning and practice management skills, identify knowledge gaps, and provide a framework for clinical supervision and feedback.
